I thought the AA one was for the supercharger oil not the motor oil?

For what its worth the OEM oil cooler is below the car...I've got the HPF one and I'm lowered and so far the shroud has a few nicks in it and thats all...it's not lower than the charge pipe if thats what you're worried about. Regardless interested in hearing options.

Dude, that statement is retarded

the Little OEM engine Oil cooler is under the Car. the HPF Engine oil cooler simply Maximizes that same AREA by 400%

there is No better engine oil cooler "in Production" for the E46 M3....unless you go custom!

so, get it and forget about it. you will enjoy it during those Hot, Humid azz ATLANTA Summer's like this year's.

you still drive up to SC/NC every weekend?

The problem is the oil cooler is protected by a piece of plastic where as the oil pan has the aluminum reinforcement. So your OEM oil cooler is suspectible to getting messed up by debris and curbs.

A truck tire can easily take out that cooler. On the track, if you make a mistake and go over a curb, it can take out your cooler.

I don't think the OEM location is #1 best place ever but its not terrible. I like higher up behind the kindey grills better but that has is drawbacks as well.

The thermostat is built into your OFH. So you'll just need the adaptor to eliminate the hard lines and replace with -10AN fittings. Then you can mount an oil cooler in front of the radiator. You'll just need to figure out how to route the lines.

Not hard. There is a Gap on both side of the kidney to fit lines through...

Problem Solved!

see, we have really smart guys in here that are creative and know what there talking about!

All that said above should take you a few hours to resolve huh

do you still deal with SOLO Motorsports?

so no more trips north and now I'm out of Central Texas so we can't hang out and beat up on these Nasty Corvette's or F/I E36s throughout the ATL anymore
