Pass inspection with no cats
So I was under the impression that with no cats, you can use o2 sims and pass the OBDII emissions test. Also, you could get a custom software flash To cover this up. Recently, I was talking to a mechanic at tuner Motorsport and he said these options only got rid of dash lights, so you still won't pass emissions.
The purpose of this thread, is to discuss how different people with different setups, get a sticker without cats. This is by no means meant to be a scandalous way of disobeying the law and a discussion about illegal activity, but due to the given nature, let's just refer to everything as a hypothetical situation.

I can't say that it is impossible but there are ways around the system. I bet money is involved when someone needs it passed.

If you go to a "by the books" shop, they do a visual and diagnostic(OBD II) check. As long as there are "visible shells" of what look like cats and no OBD codes or CEL indicated, youve passed with flying colors. If they dont see any cats period but the OBD checks out some will fail some will say screw it and pass you. And obviously if you have a CEL then no matter what you fail.
Soo in review: Visible precenes of cats+no CEL= good to go No visible cats+no CEL=maybe pass maybe fail Has CEL +/- cats=100% fail Pretty straight forward. *Note: this only applies if your state has emission standards. Some, like SC, have only safety inspections. Sent by my DROIDX using Bimmer App & witchcraft

Well I never see them open the hood or look under the car when I get mine inspected. But when they plug the car in.... That's what I'm trying to figure out

If you have cats under the hood there are bigger issues yet. But if cat shells are welded on and obd passes you got it covered
