2004 330i ZHP Sedan 6MT - Imola

Selling my 2004 330i Sedan with the ZHP Performance Package. It's been replaced with a proper mommy wagon, so it has to go!

**Asking $12,500**

General Overview:
  • 2004 330i Sedan with ZHP package and Imola paint
  • All options except for navigation: Harmon-Kardon audio, Cold Weather Package, etc.
  • Car has been my wife's daily driver for the past two years and we've put a ton of highway miles on it (see history section below). Over all, it's in great shape for its age, and it's mechanically sound. Most of the issues we've had have been typical to E46 BMWs and they've all been promptly fixed.
  • Interior and exterior are in good condition, but not perfect. It's been washed regularly with Meguiar's products and waxed/claybared twice a year.
  • Bone stock, except for the Dr. Vanos unit. Car had an HR front swaybar when I bought it, and I replaced it with the stock front bar.
  • Interior leather treated with Leatherique every 9-12 months
  • Tires are new in stock sizes
  • Comes with two keys and all books

Quick history:
  • Bought in November 2010 from the previous owner. Car was immaculate and had 64,000 miles on it at the time.
  • Today the car has 109,XXX miles. It's my wife's daily driver and we take it on road trips on the weekend. Tons of highway miles.
  • The previous owner autocrossed it twice. It's never been on track since I've owned it.

Maintenance and Repairs:
  • Regular oil changes with Mobil1 and OE filters.
  • All non-shop maintenance done with BMW OE or OE equivalent parts ordered from Pelican. NO ebay crap on this car.
  • Had Inspection II at 61k miles
  • Vanos unit was replaced with the full Dr. Vanos kit at 64k miles. This car doesn't have the typical Vanos rattle.
  • All trans/diff fluids replaced with Redline synthetics at 80k miles.
  • Updated DME software from BMW at 82k miles. Corrected an intermittent stutter under light load at parking lot speeds. Hasn't had the issue in 30k miles since.
  • Taillight ground wire fix was done at ~90k miles (BMW recall for additional ground wire)
  • New DISA intake box installed at ~97k miles (typical issue with these cars)
  • Brand new tires two weeks ago! Stock sizes.

Exterior:
  • Paint is in overall good condition. This isn't a show car, it's a daily driven vehicle that's racked up 100k miles in its 8 years on the road.
  • Front hood and bumper have rock chips you'd expect of this age and mileage (see pictures).
  • Passenger's side rear bumper has a scrape (picture)
  • Top of trunk has some light scratches. I tried to capture these with a camera, but it's hard to get a shot. Could probably buff these out.
  • Driver's side front wheel has some curb marks/scuffs.
  • Front and rear roundel badges look like crap. Ordered replacements today from Pelican

Interior:
  • Leather is in good shape and is conditioned regularly using Leatherique
  • The driver's side bolster shows the normal wear.
  • The suede steering wheel was replaced by the previous owner. The new version seems to wear better than the stock - I've had two ZHPs and this is the nicest suede wheel I've seen
  • ZHP 6-speed knob was also replaced. Looks great
  • Small scratches on the driver's door aluminum trim. I tried to get a pic of this last night, but it's hard to capture. Will get another pic and post it.

More pictures.

I tried to get close-up shots of the main exterior bumps and scrapes. See shots below.

Bumper scuff and broken fog light. I have a new fog light, just haven't installed it.

Hood chips. By far the biggest exterior issue with the car. It's spent a lot of time on the highway, and this is the result.

Rear bumper scuff - passenger's side.

Trunk scratches. Horrible picture - I'll replace with a better one. Scratches are light enough to make them hard to photograph, but noticeable in direct sunlight.

Nice car! How about maintenance to the cooling system and/or suspension?

Coolant is new BMW coolant in a 60:40 Water/Coolant mix. I have the parts to do the rest of the cooling system: hoses, belts, water pump, etc., but haven't done the work. Happy to work something out with a serious buyer if it's a concern.

How in the world has the car been your wife's daily driver for 2 years and 50k miles if you bought it in November 2011? That's less than a year ago. Insane.

November 2010 - my mistake! But yeah, we put a lot of miles on cars. 25-30k/year is normal. Lots of road trips, and the car's perfect for covering a lot of miles in a day.

Returned all PMs.

Working with a potential buyer right now - taking the car in for a Pre-Purchase Inspection at a local shop tomorrow morning. Thanks to all that have PMd.

Not sure what you're implying - the pics were taken outside my house with a regular digital camera, and I have close-ups of all of the car's bumps and scratches.

It could be the appallingly high stock ride height that's throwing you off.

Bumping this back up to the top. I haven't updated the thread recently because I thought the car was sold. Spent a couple weeks talking to two serious buyers, accepted an offer and the buyer backed out ~8 hours later.

So, this ZHP is still for sale. I have a PPI that I can email to any interested buyers. To sum it up, the car needs the typical maintenance for a 100k-mile BMW. It drives very well now, but will need cooling system and suspension/bushing update in the first year or two of ownership. Based on what I see for sale out there, I don't think it's anything outrageous - everything works well on the car and it drives very well. Just replaced a set of tires with 55-60k miles on 'em and they wore evenly across the tread.

That said, I'm willing to take a bit less for a quick and easy sale. It's taking up space in the garage, and its replacement is already here. PM me with your email address and I'll send maintenance records and the PPI.

**Please note: this is a for sale ad for a car. The starting price is $12,500 and the title is ready to go. If you don't have anywhere near that amount of money to spend on a car, please don't waste my and your collective time.**

Price is a bit high for 109K miles in my opinion. Nice ride however! GLWS!

Car went home with its new owner today - very cool talking to a handful of BMW folks throughout the sales process. I'll miss the car, but it's in excellent hands. Thanks to everybody that PMd and emailed with interest.
