I know what you mean by you feel a harder pull when easing.on the throttle rather than flooring it. ive noticed it on my 04 325xi 5mt... I think its normal to be honest.

Unless you have an old automatic that you are trying to force to kickdown by slamming the throttle, you will get better power delivery by easing the throttle on. This allows the engines sensors and fuel delivery system to cope with the extra demands instead of have to choke down a burst of low vacuum/extra air. It becomes very pronounced when you do it from a stop and car bogs before picking up speed.

So this happens to only old automatic trannys or also old manual trannys? well I have a manual and all that about the sensors make sense. Would it just mean that the sensors are pretty worn out of the tranny that isn't engaging the power transfer properly?
