doesn't this car already have projectors? Not a fan of the chrome housing either.
I'd rather just put angels in the existing headlights

hey Umnitza, your instructions to pull fuse 32 on your website... That's not a good idea. I took that route and it contributed if not caused the failure of my cluster and mileage. That fuse controls your LCM and that is one of the places the mileage of your car is stored. So in the right conditions, your car could lose it's mileage as mine has done. And it's because of pulling fuse 32. So your asking for trouble, just a heads up.

If these are DEPO projectors, wouldn't the quality be a downgrade from OEM?

this is not for the 04-06, so we've taken this off the product page. Your pulling fuse 32 could not have caused what you talk about. It's more likely caused by a ballast that sends a charge back to the LCM and causes this not pulling a fuse. I'll give you the names of the master techs who will say the same thing (which is where I get my information before I post it for the thousands of people that visit our site to see, so we can't make that mistake without back up).

I'm sorry but you are wrong. And why are you being hostile? I was trying to be nice and help you out. Believe me, I've done my research and I've asked my share of BMW master techs aswell. Like I said before, the mileage is stored on the cluster, key and LCM. The key just gets the current mileage and stores it, nothing special. But in the case of cluster failure -as in my case- your cluster will try and get the mileage from your LCM and if you have pulled fuse 32, which controls the LCM, you are in a world of trouble.

Just facts. What you say about the LCM is 100% true. The cause however for the failure as you describe it may have been what your tech told you, but it's certainly not the norm.Having installed and helped with the installation of at least 500 of these lights on 99-01 cars, I'll assure you that if there was indeed an issue with it, it would be made itself known far sooner. Now, we're beating a dead horse because these lights are for a car 04+, therefore, no fuse pulling is ever done as that causes all sorts of errors to come up. But that doesn't happen on 99-01 cars.

actually that's the exact reason why my odometer jumped to 621,372 miles. It's the highest an E46 odometer has ever recorded, why that mileage you ask? I dunno, it's probably the max the car is programmed for. Probably not but that doesn't matter. And for the record, my car is a 2000. And yeah, my problem isn't the "norm". That's why nobody on E46 knew what the problem was. It's probably the most random problem to ever happen, and that's not a stretch. It's not normal, but it did happen. So it's a possibility and that's why now, I tell people that the fuse 32 route isn't a good idea.
