Now that we are starting to get this radio installed in our cars, its time we start a dedicated thread with questions and comments regarding the installation of the Dynavin.
I already installed mine (95%) but have questions, and we need one place to do so, welcome to the: Official: Dynavin E46 Radio - Installation, Question & Troubleshooting Thread lol

Nicely done.
Just to let you know, the only issue I have now is the radio "bleed through". No hissing at all and no hum from the parking lights either. |

Looks like there are quite a few annoying issues popping up with this unit. I know if I purchased this unit and experienced all of those, I would be pissed.

Guessing this was solved by capping off all the RCAs?

No, I never had either of those issues, mine were different.
I did bundle all of my unused RCA connections to gether and kept them seperated and pulled out of the way during initial install. I figured it might be a problem so I isolated them from the start. I had issues with steering wheel controls not working and my Nav software not being found. Ryan from Dabears helped with the Nav issue. Steering wheel controls weren't working and it was due to a bad connection on the SY8 interface box. |

Well, someone had to be the guinea pig I guess....
Still, Im happy with it so far. I had a skipping stock cd player and no changer so its a definite improvement for me. I DO miss my Sirius radio though. I was using a Kenwood Sirius tuner and a Soundgate adapter and it won't work with the new unit. Have an INV tuner ordered to mount in the ashtray. |

Anyone has the HK system with the Dynavin?
If so, how do you connect the 4-channel speaker output from the Dynavin to the 10-channel HK system? What about the separate sub output? Does the Dynavin have it? |

Nick,
When your in the ipod screen and go to setup it should be set to auto connect. Sorry, if you are already setup like this. I also have the radio bleed and the hiss noise as do many others. I have an email in to Dynavin. Hopefully, they can come up with something as this is very annoying. I also feel the screen is a little to glossy so I put a Lexard screen protector on my screen. I don't recommend this protector as I have more fingerprints on it then I had on the bare screen and it is a little pricey for a piece of plastic. I also put my gps antenna under the dash but more towards the driver side. if you look to the left of the opening for the radio there is a small steel shelf that I put mine on. It works fine under there with a little velcro tape. I have no problem with GPS, Ipod, Dvd or cd playing. They all work fine (except for the faint bleed through and hiss at low volume). I am still playing with the bluetooth. The system doesn't seem compatible with my phone. It is a Motorola w376g(piece of sh@t but it works). Does anyone know how i can make this phone work with the dynavin? Is there some kind of upgrade for this phone? it is bluetooth. If I wasn't experiencing the background noise problem, I would probably give this unit a 9 out of 10 rating. I does look excellent in the dash. but with the noise issue, I give it a 7 out of 10. |

x3!
GREAT REVIEW NICK!!! This is all wanted from TR_MS3's thread: A clear video review of how the Dynavin performed in key areas! Thank you for creating this practical thread. About the iPod? How the hell is it playing that song "after" you disconnect the iPod? Does it store it in the memory?

iPod Issue Resolved:
I had to restore my iPod, I will find out eventually what was screwing up on my iPod. You can plug in a USB stick to the deck and play from it: More Audio Bleed Through Info: I wonder if Dynavin could patch the software so it mutes unused sources???
