Eurowise's E46 M3 Turbo build

We've been working on a custom M3 turbo build for quite some time now on and off. You may have seen pictures leaked on the forums back in the day. Over the last year we've been swamped with work and haven't had a chance to touch it until recently. Last weekend we did some final touches on the turbo setup and put her on the dyno for some tuning. Results were great overall. Even with the turbo mounted remotely, there's actually minimal turbo lag unlike what most people think.
We're currently running a Precision 6266 ball bearing billet turbo. With the 68ar turbine we achieved full boost at around 4,800 RPM's. Combined with the Pro-efi's traction control program it delivers amazing power to the ground with minimal slippage. There's more testing to be done as our air-water intake manifold was only built to withstand low boost. The final results were

525rwhp @ 7,800 RPM's

383 rwtq @ 6,200 RPM's

boost 14.7 PSI

93 octane

Our next plan is a complete motor tear down and Forged rods, pistons, and head studs.

Well done.... Ive had nothing but good service from eurowise :-)

Never been a fan of these remote turbo's but hey if it works, smooth that intake out alittle and youll have a solid setup.....

That's a neat setup! Definitely more room there for the turbo. Is that setup less efficient than having the turbo right off of the manifold? Also wouldn't it take a longer to build boost because you have all of that extra pipe you have to fill with air?

At 525rwhp, it looks like a pretty conservative tune. 14.7 psi on stock internals probably won't be an issue.

That is the general consensus with rear mounted turbos. But in some cars its the only option. However if you're mounting a 62mm turbo I would have thought there would be no reason not to put it up front.

Why not run 6 lbs like we do with a slightly more aggressive tune?

These motors have been known to handle 700+ HP on stock internals.

We originally went this route to make turbo installation simple. keep costs low on hardware, Retain factory cats to pass emissions, and draw heat away from the engine bay. It's more of a test vehicle and a project we've been toying around with. Nothing going into production

Videos coming soon. Car sounds like an airplane getting ready to take off. Pretty sick if you ask me!

Nice work guys, turbo looks sexxy back there. The sound from the rear under boost must be music to the ears. Those are impressive numbers for 93 pump gas though. More info on your impressions of the ProEFI traction control and if possible some vids

hardware looks great!

Being a smaller turbo than what HPF uses for stage 1-2.5, this entire curve has been moved to the right. On 93 octane and stock compression, that's a lot of boost, but it seems like you're ready to build the engine. Though, this would still probably last a long time if you dont abuse your motor too much, especially given how far to the right the power curve sits. While I totally respect this entire setup, I must state that if the turbo were to be mounted directly on the engine, I suspect over a 1.5krpm spool improvement...

I bet that turbo spool sounds so sick though

Video's coming soon for you guys. I love the Pro-efi all around. Such a versatile system to have. I've barley even scratched the surface for what it can do. Traction control works great as well.

Wow, Thanks Mike for starting this thread as I've wanted to follow the progress. You know already I support the rear mounted idea and as of last week I had the pleasure of meeting Mike in person and taking a tour of his shop/shops LOL They are busy with all sorts of projects. I got a chance to see the M3 up close and in person as well another project they are working on that has my interest. Mike did you get the final numbers on that M54B30 car with ProEFI yet. If you don't want to disclose here please PM or call me with results. Keep up the great work and thanks again for posting your build.
