Which shop did you take it to? Also, what were the compressions numbers and how low was cylinder 1?

If the car runs normally with the MAF disconnected then there is nothing wrong with the headgasket.

*Note: A car will not run as smoothly as shown in that video with a blown headgasket. Most of the time these cars smoke from a bad cyclone separator or the MAF goes bad and floods the motor.

I took it to a shop called MB Euro. He said that the STFT and LTFT are running at max. I called AA and spoke to the tech department. They recommended a few things like check the black box that connects between the DME and MAF to ensure it is on position 8. It was.

Is it possible that my ecu could have been programmed incorrectly? They will look at a few more things Monday. I just can't wait to get this problem figured out. Quite frustrating!

Hi,

I have a 328i (2000) automatic, my problem is the next one:

Some days ago my car, early in morningand about 60°F, begins to have a little failure, as a spark plug was not working, after 3 minutes when car gets normal temperature, problem disappears and engine works perfectly.

Then I decide to change all the Spark plug, and I made this hopping to solve the problem, but when I remove the fourth cylinder Spark Plug, I saw the spark plug was rusty.

My mechanical tell me that the problem is in head cylinder gasket, or maby be have a crack in the engine block, and he listen another cases like this.

Obs: my car has 78.000 mi (12.000 mi with me) and never overheats.

My question is if somebody knows cases like this?, and if is possible to determinate wich is the problem without remove head cylinder?

I hope that all made sense.
Thanks for any help.
