Well, I went to Technik today, and we waited for the car to cool down a bit after driving it 30 mins to get to the shop. We straped the car on the dyno and did 3 runs with the following mods.
{Stock Intake, Full supersprint exhaust, BHS pulleys, Powerchip SW}

Couple of months ago I had the exact same setup but I had the k&n 63 intake and without the SS Headers.

Here is the dyno from today compared to the previous setup.

Run #1 Stock intake Vs. K&N 63 Intake
Here's the dyno of stock intake with listed mods against K&N 63 with listed mods.

Run #2

Run #3

Notice: The major loss in tourque I had with the k&n 63. I knew something was wrong with my car. So, all those videos I had with the intake....Guess what!....I had the k&n 63 with stock headers. Now I've gained an avg of 17hp.

So your best was around 290whp? I have the exact same setup as u did when i was NA except for i had SS cats and KN intake with software and i dynoed ~307whp..

Comparing dynos is not an effectivce measure of rating power. So comparing yours to his is not going to tell you much. But comparing his pre and post is ideal, as Im sure you know.

So you getting rid of the K&N?

Where were the fans placed when you dyno'd Sev? I remember when the K&N first came out and Technik did a comparo with that intake, stock, and GruppeM. They basically skewed the test for the GruppeM to win, so I wouldnt be so certain to jump to the conclusion that the K&N doesnt work.
Trust me on this. We even waited for the car to cool down about 1 hour after the first 3 runs, then we isntalled the intake. Then let it idle for 4 minutes and zeroed all the codes. It was amazing how hot the intake tempature was. It was about 30 degrees hotter on Idle for the k&n compared to the stock intake temp on WOT. One fan was right by the kidney grills { we put that cover on} and one other fan right under the drivers foglight. From what I saw today....the k&N does not work and I would not put it in my car.

That' correct. There's all certain types of conditions when dynoing the car. I dynoed both of these runs on the same dyno, same conditions. I will not put this piece in my car again.

Here is a dyno of my highest run{with stock intake} compared to Technik's stage 2 software+GruppeM intake+Technik headers+Eisenmann exhaust.

Here's a dyno of that Technik's setup versus the run with the k&n 63 intake.

I use to have a Gruppe M. Its not a bad piece, but the filter is to small IMO, does not move enough air and they need to make it a big larger to move more air and make teh CF thicker for better insulation IMO. Those were the areas that I thought could have been improved.

What do you think about the Delage?

very interesting....this is like the second time now people have shown proven dyno numbers on stock vs aftermarket intakes. I almost bought the K&N 63 twice now. Especially since AA in like an hour from my house. They recommend it with their software. hmmmmm..........I may just do a new Filter on the stock housing. Is streamline the best one?

I still like it, but it gets heat soaked far to easily, needs to route the air inside the plenum better, and it needs a bigger filter. Im no engineer though.
The thing I like about the GruppeM is, it keeps the stock "ram-air" design {which I've very pleased with after I saw the dyno} compared to the k&n 63 because it blocks the heat rather then the k&n or any other CAI.

So the real question is. Is stock the best intake for our cars? I'm very happy I brought the intake to test it out and compare it to the stock intake. Something told me that the stock intake had more air flow then the k&n.

It just may be, take a look at the Dinan intake too, its similar, but uses a much bigger filter, larger pieces, and a new MAF to deal with the more air and the material is suppose to resist heat well. I know ppl hate Dinan, but they may have something with it.
