Production Date

When I look at parts, there are a fair amount that say either "for production up to 3-2003" or "for production from 3-2003"

based on VIN research, this is what my car shows:
"Prod.date 2003-02-21"

I know this seems stupid and I really know the answer, but I want to toss it out there anyway.

I want to make sure I'm getting "up to 3-2003" right?

I'm only seven days from the divide line, which makes me nervous... the little voice in the back of my head says "sh!t, am I buying the right part"

What part are you shopping for? That is an odd cutoff date.

That's a very common cutoff date. I think this is the 2004 model year facelift change for coupes. It also brought in the GM transmission.

at the moment i'm looking at ATF filter / fluid kits. But there is a lot of stuff that has this up to 3/2003 from 3/2003 delineation.. particularly body parts, but it seems this isn't the first mechanical part I've come across.

In the end I would say your car is a pre-3/2003 build. If you want to be sure you are ordering the correct AT filter / kit, crawl underneath and try to identify which transmission you have.

Oh ya? Try a 3/2003 production date.

I had the same thoughts ordering parts the first few times. I'm a "up to".
