So I was checking out my car's ass last night and I was wondering is there supposed to be any lightning to the insides of the brake light, where the reverse light is or it's simply stays red? I don't think there isn't any reflectors either.

as mentioned you're not missing anything in there for your car. the trunk lens simply stays like it is.

although the european market can have a bulb, wiring (and switch) for a light there that's used in the fog so people can see your tail easier.

I also read somewhere that brake lights cannot be on a moving part of the car (in US) like the trunk. Take a look around. Every single car obeys this rule and you can also see some designs that had to work around this rule. The only car I've seen not fit this rule is a Q5. You'll also see SUV's with tail lights on the trunk but the brake lights are in the bumper
